Editing or Removing a Recommendation You've Written

How do I edit or remove a recommendation I've written for another LinkedIn member?

Recommendations you've written for others can be can be edited or removed from the Sent Recommendations page.

To remove a recommendation:
  1. Go to your profile.
  2. Scroll to the Recommendations section and click the Manage link.
  3. Scroll to the recommendation you want to remove and click the Remove link.
  4. Click Confirm.

Note: The recipient won't be notified that you removed your recommendation. It's just removed from their profile.

To edit a recommendation:

  1. Go to your profile.
  2. Scroll to the Recommendations section and click the Manage link.
  3. Click the Given tab.
  4. Scroll to the recommendation you want to edit and click the Edit icon.
  5. Edit your recommendation, then click into the text box below to include a note explaining the changes.
  6. Click Send.

Note: Once you send an updated recommendation, the original recommendation is hidden from the recipient's profile. They'll need to approve your changes, and decide whether to display the recommendation on their profile.
