Changing Your Members-Only Group to an Open Group

How do I change my group from members-only to an open group?

If you're the group's owner, you can switch it to an open group on the Group Settings page. Once a group becomes open, it cannot switch back to members-only. To make your group an open group:

  1. Click Groups at the top of your home page.
  2. Click the group's name.
  3. Click the Manage tab and then Group Settings on the left.
  4. Click "Learn About Open Groups" at the top.
  5. Click I'm Interested and then click "Switch to Open Group".
Group members are notified when their group switches to open when they enter the group. Group owners and managers can also send a message or post a discussion to notify group members about the change.
