Syncing Contacts from Other Address Books and Sources

Can I sync my address book and contacts from other sites with LinkedIn Contacts?

LinkedIn Contacts can regularly synchronize with your contacts from Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts. Learn more about the privacy of the information you sync. Note: If you're syncing a company email account, make sure you're in compliance with your corporate IT security policy first.

To sync contacts:

  1. Move your cursor over My Network at the top of your homepage and select Connections.
  2. Click the Settings icon near the top right.
    • You'll be brought to the Contacts Settings page that shows your synced sources.
  3. Click Sync next to any source you'd like sync.
    • If you change your password for one of these sources, go back to this page and click Change to update it on LinkedIn.

Note: When you sync your email address books or calendar from other sources, you import contact information, meetings, and emails for easy access in one place.

LinkedIn Contacts keeps your contacts and their information up to date by regularly checking for any changes. Typically, your contact data is synced once each day. You can click the Refresh link next to any source in order to sync it right way. LinkedIn Contacts creates an index of your email messages so you can access your message history.

To import a contacts file listed in the Contacts File Imports section at the bottom of the Contact Settings page:

  1. Move your cursor over My Network at the top of your homepage and select Connections
  2. Click the Settings icon near the top right.
  3. Scroll down to the Contacts File Imports section.
  4. Click Import next to the source you want and follow the prompts.

Note: If you'd like to import a CSV file from a source that's not listed on the Contacts Settings page, import the file using the Outlook Contacts CSV option. This option is a workaround and may not work for all sources.
