Send a message to one or more connections from your Contacts page
  1. Move your cursor over Connections at the top of your homepage and select Keep in Touch.
  2. In the contacts list, find the person you want to message and hover your cursor over their information.
  3. Click the Message link that appears under their name.
  4. Draft your message in the text box and click Send Message.

Note: If the contact you've selected is synced from an email account, you may have the option to select Send via LinkedIn Message or Send via…(email provider).

  • If this is available, click Send via…(email provider) to send a message from your email account to that person's email. The message won't appear in either one of your LinkedIn messaging lists.
  • If you don't see Send via LinkedIn Message on the message template, you're not connected to the person on LinkedIn. They are simply saved to your contacts. Sending them an email is the only option unless you send them an invitation to connect.
