Adding and Removing Skills on Your Profile

How do I manage the skills on my profile?

You can add and remove skills from the Skills & Endorsements section on your Edit Profile page. Maintaining a relevant list of skills on your profile will help others understand your strengths and match you with the right opportunities.

To add skills:
  1. Move your cursor over Profile at the top of your homepage and select Edit Profile.
  2. Scroll to the Skills & Endorsement section of your profile.
  3. Move your cursor over the section and click the + Add skill button in the top right.
  4. Select Yes or No next to I want to be endorsed to determine whether others can endorse you and select your communication settings.
  5. 4. Type the name of a skill in the text box and choose it from the dropdown list that appears. If your skill doesn't appear, completely type in the skill name in the field.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Click Save.

If you don't have any skills listed on your profile, the Skills & Endorsements section won't appear. To add that section:

  1. Under your profile summary at the top, click the Skills section. You may need to click View More to find this section.
  2. Follow the steps above to add skills.
  3. Click Save.

Notes:

  1. You can add up to 50 skills to your profile.
  2. Skills with the most endorsements are listed first. Skills without endorsements are displayed according to the date added.
  3. There's no way to make a skill without an endorsement appear higher than skills with endorsements.
To remove skills:
  1. Move your cursor over Profile at the top of your homepage and select Edit Profile.
  2. Scroll to the Skills & Endorsements section and click the skill you'd like to remove.
  3. Click the X next to the skill.
  4. Click Save.
